Epidemiologist Dr. Stephanie Silvera discusses the updated guidance
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has shortened the recommended isolation period for those who test positive for COVID-19 to five days -- down from 10 -- if they are asymptomatic and wear a mask around others. The CDC also said a five-day quarantine period is OK for vaccinated people who are exposed to the virus. People who are boosted may not need to quarantine at all.
